Trail: Isolation via Glen Boulder, Davis Path, Isolation Trail, Rocky Branch Date Hiked: 09SEP06 Conditions: Glen Boulder trail is well maintened and easy to follow both above and below treeline. Davis Path has some minor mud in the saddles below treeline. Isolation trail and upper portions of Rocky Branch have considerable mud. Both trails are rather 'skinny' but I didn't find them so overgrown as to be difficult to follow. The lower portions of Rocky Branch are wider with less mud but more rocks. Special Required Equipment: Needed rain gear for the last few miles as we got caught in the thunderstorm. Comments: Flew the flag on top of Isolation but didn't see flags on any other summits as they were either in the coulds or to far away. Passed maybe a dozen people on the trail total, none of whom had heard of Fot48. Met two other people on top who had just finished their 48. I was joined by Mountain Magic, Karen, Eric, John and Arnold. (42/48) |
