Trail: North Imp, Carter-Moriah, Wildcat Ridge Trail

Date Hiked: 22JUL06

Conditions: North Imp, North Carter and Carter-Moriah trails where all wide, clean, no blow downs and no mud to speak of. Surprising considering the recent rains. Carter Dome Trail had two old blow downs easily gotten around. Rain started when I got to Carter Notch hut. After that Wildcat Ridge Trail became one big mud puddle and a very narrow one at that. Would have been fine in the dry but I was pretty much soaked by the time I made it to B Peak. Trail could definately use some trimming in spots. Came down the ski trails to Wildcat parking lot.

Special Required Equipment: Rain Gear, although today it wouldn't matter you would have still gotten wet

Comments: Thanks to the guys up from RI for the lift this AM. The Lillies on the Carter Lakes should be in full bloom in a few days. Lots of thru hikers out today. Met a few holed up in the ski patrol hut on the top of Wildcat trying to stay dry. (34/48)
